Our internal hygiene protocol at uvex
In line with our motto of #protectingpeopletogether, we have implemented a comprehensive set of safety guidelines to protect our employees.
Crisis team
uvex has created a crisis team to enable us to assess the COVID-19 situation based on the most up-to-date expert information. The team is made up of representatives from human resource management (HR), health management, the works council, marketing & communication and occupational health & safety. This team of specialists from all areas of the company holds regular meetings to discuss the situation, coordinates actions with the board and company owners, and uses email and the intranet to keep employees in Germany and abroad informed of all the latest information and changes.
Digital information
It is particularly important to us that our employees feel protected and safe in our company. Employees can visit our user-friendly intranet site at any time to review our hygiene protocol, watch informative YouTube videos and read important health tips. The intranet also provides answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. We have set up a 24/7 helpline for employees and their families to call if they need support or advice. The health and well-being of our employees is our priority.
Mobile working
As the risk of infection increases outside the home, we have equipped our employees for home working. This means that they can avoid hotspots such as train stations and public transport and reduce their contact with others. uvex has provided its employees with the relevant hardware and has developed existing digital tools to facilitate mobile working. Employees will have the option to work from home until at least summer 2021 and the option of home working will be integrated into the next generation of the uvex employment model, enabling our employees to work flexibly to boost their health and productivity.
Responsible care
Unfortunately, it isn’t possible for all of our employees to work from home, so we have implemented a strict hygiene protocol at all of our sites. Temperature-checking stations have been installed at all entrance points and each employee’s temperature is checked before they start work. If an employee’s temperature is higher than normal, they are sent home. We have also provided sanitising stations across our sites so that employees can regularly disinfect their hands and surfaces. We are cleaning sites more regularly to ensure that the environment is kept clean at all times. All employees have been provided with disposable and reusable masks free of charge. With this programme of hygiene and protection measures in place, we can ensure that all our employees can work in a safe and healthy environment, whether they are working from home or on site. uvex has also developed special products so that others can benefit from a more comprehensive personal protection regime.
