Producing individually customised products
Information for our Customers and Service Partners: Collection and transfer of biometric data during the course of producing individually customised products
The uvex group always endeavours to supply you with products that meet the highest safety standards. As a reliable partner, our commitment extends beyond just the production process itself – it's important to us that your employee data be securely processed.
Biometric personal data are processed during the course of producing individually customised products for your employees’ protection. These biometric data form the basis of our production process and are subject to an elevated need for protection. In the present constellation and in most cases, these data can only be processed in order to fulfil your obligations under occupational safety law or when consent has been given.
The biometric data can be collected in various ways. The design spectrum extends from collection by trained uvex employees through to various well-known system partners (opticians, auditory technicians, makers of orthopaedic shoes). You can freely choose the system partner you wish to work with. We at uvex therefore have no direct influence on the data collection processes.
Due to this circumstance, collection of the biometric data must not take place within the framework of a contract-data processing relationship subject to issued instructions, but rather must rest exclusively upon the consent of each employee.
In order to offer you the greatest possible extent of liability protection, we have submitted this case for review and validation by the supervisory authority responsible for our activities:
Please find enclosed the basic draft we have provided for use as a potential declaration of consent for your employees. This serves exclusively to transparently describe the data processing processes that occur during the course of producing individualised protective products.
We ask for your understanding that the enclosed draft is not to be regarded as a legal assumption of liability or as advice. We ask that you submit this draft to your legal department as well as the appointed Data Protection Officer so that they may draw up a declaration of consent for your employees.
