Animal epidemics and treatment of animals with diseases

When treating sick animals or responding to an animal epidemic, it is of particular importance to wear appropriate PPE especially because of pathogens and the associated risk of infection being transmitted to humans and other animals. In such scenarios, a protection class FFP3 respirator should always be used.

A respirator with carbon can be used to counteract any unpleasant odours (protection against gases and vapours under occupational exposure limits [OEL]). The respirator is therefore only intended for single use and must be correctly disposed of immediately after being removed. You can find product suggestions for this purpose below. Please ensure all appropriate and requisite personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn, as offered by uvex.

work with fungal spores

When working with fungal spores of any kind, whether they are found on walls or in food, a protection class FFP3 respirator should always be worn. Spores can cause serious health issues, particularly if exposure is long term.

You can find product suggestions for this purpose below. Please ensure all appropriate and requisite personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn, as offered by uvex.

Work with hay, grain and flour

In general, the dust produced when working with flours, grains, grasses, hay and straw is harmless. A protection class FFP1 respirator is therefore usually sufficient to protect against the particles released.

However, please note that where pesticides have been used or spread, a different respirator may be required (possibly one with gas and vapour filters).  You can find product suggestions for FFP1 respirators below. Please ensure all appropriate and requisite personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn, as offered by uvex.
